NCE Oy, a company specializing in demanding composite products, exports pipes and containers tailored to the needs of its customers around the world from Pietarsaari.
– Our products have been exported from the port to Chile, Mexico, Korea, Egypt and Macedonia, for example, tells Business Controller Josefine Snellman as she points out a photo on the wall of her office showing cargo leaving towards Egypt in autumn 2017.
Most of the production is exported through the Port of Pietarsaari, located in close proximity to NCE.
– The port is really important to us. It already a great advantage during deal making stages that we can state that we can load our products onto ships directly from our factory.
The composite sector is developing rapidly and requires special expertise, it brings challenges to recruitment.
– Fortunately, this region has a strong tradition of boat construction, which is also a good base for the orientation to the composite sector. We have also made some amount of cooperation with Optima, who provide professional training in our sector. They have organized both Finnish and Swedish language training for the composite industry. We hope that in the future Optima will also carry out secondary level education, where one of the specialization options would be the composite sector.
Josefine Snellman states that AIP is a good location for NCE.
– We have an excellent cooperation network and good subcontractors here. Through regional cooperation, we have also found new synergy benefits, such as the joint organization of occupational safety training.
